17 Mar St. Patrick’s Day Breakfast: Green Smoothie & Avocado Toast
Festive breakfast: green smoothie with chia seeds and some bomb cado toast
Happy St. Patrick’s Day! I believe that the best way to celebrate a holiday is through food 🙂 so I made an amazing green smoothie and avocado mash toast for breakfast.
What you’ll need for the green smoothie:
1 tsp chia seeds
1/4 cup frozen mango
1 small handful of spinach
1/4 cup frozen kale
1/2 cup milk or almond milk
What you’ll need for the avocado toast:
1 or 2 pieces Ezekiel sprouted whole grain bread
Pinch of salt and pepper
How do I make this beauty??
step 1: blend smoothie ingredients, sprinkle with chia seeds
step 2: toast bread, mash avocado & sprinkle with salt and pepper
BOOM. You are now festive AF for St. Patty’s Day and it only took 5 minutes (ish)
This meal is great for breakfast or really any other time of day. I usually get hungry for lunch by 11 or 12, but this kept me full hours longer – it’s a miracle. I think the sprouted whole wheat bread is the best for avocado toast because it doesn’t get mushy or soggy and can hold the weight of an avocado without folding. I absolutely love the Ezekiel bread, and this one has tons of protein, amino acids, vitamin B and C and fiber. You can also freeze it and pop it in the toaster; it comes right back to life! The cinnamon raisin flavor is also usually stocked up in my freezer and I would highly recommend it 🙂 The green smoothie has the perfect thickness and doesn’t taste like spinach or kale in the slightest. Try this out for a healthy and filling breakfast to power you through St. Patty’s Day!
