Version 2

13 Mar LACMA – An LA Museum Must

I visited LACMA (Los Angeles County Museum of Art) a few months ago and scored tickets to their Rain Room exhibit. Only in LA do people pay to see precipitation 🙂 It was pretty sweet, though. Basically you can walk through the “rain” coming down from the ceiling and motion sensors detect your body and stop the rain from falling on you.

I made it out with only a few drops, but I can’t say the same for the little kids running around (the sensors require slow movements to work). I love that the art is an experience in itself, you’re fully immersed in the piece rather than staring and thinking what does this meannnn?

You have until April 24th to catch the Rain Room at LACMA! Don’t miss out on this very rare opportunity to see rain in LA 😉
